Information

The Father Son Retreat at Living Waters Bible Camp is designed to help Fathers and Sons spend time together.  As Dads our time and energy is often consumed by a career as we seek to provide for our families. We need to ensure that we don't miss investing the necessary time to influence our sons  Choose this weekend to retreat together and experience great activities as well as sound Bible teaching.

Each father son combination will work together to create their own craft project representing what we learned this weekend.

Weather permitting, we have a variety of great outdoor activities planned. Whether it be participating in a broomball competition, traveling at high speeds down the Living Waters tubing hill, or enjoying the beautiful scenery on cross-country skis with your son(s), you are sure to make great memories!

Theme

GROW: Psalm 1:3 says “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water”. As fathers we are responsible for the physical and spiritual growth of our sons. This weekend together with your sons will be filled with spiritual and physical growth. Bring your best Paul Bunyan outfit and participate in some friendly woodsman challenges. Work up an appetite because you are going to need it for our Paul Bunyan size meals. Extra bacon, extra brats and dinner time steaks are going to fuel us throughout the weekend! Grandfathers and Grandsons are welcome too!

Our Speaker - Jeff Riley

BIO: Jeff grew up in Colorado along the Rocky Mountains.  Without Christianity in his heritage, the Gospel came alive when he was twelve years old.  It wasn’t until after graduating high school, through suffering, that he chose to follow after the Lord with his entire life.  Jeff is a graduate of Emmaus Bible College and has spent the past 20+ years in youth, camp, children and family based ministry.  He holds a masters degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary and is currently working on a doctorate in Educational Ministries.  He currently teaches at Emmaus and is the chair of the Educational Ministries Department.  He has a heart for discipleship and a passion for marriage and family focused ministry.  He’s been married to his wife, Jeanette, for 20 years.  They have six children (ages 17-3).  For Jeff and Jeanette, the most important ministry is to their children.  They believe that parenting should be based off of a model of discipleship built upon the Word of God and intentional relationship.

CONTENT FOCUS:

Jeff is looking forward to challenging and inspiring fathers and sons to committing to growing in Christ through the unique context of the parent-child relationship by embracing the foundation of God’s design for biblical masculinity and fatherhood that’s directly related to discipleship.  He believes that discipleship and intentional relationships with our children are directly linked to the purpose of the family in living out and passing on the Gospel through the image-bearing process that is restored by Jesus Christ.
